Paul Kroff

When Paul Kroff earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard School of Business in 2004, he hadn’t quite realized his passion. He took a job in the building and development industry in Southern California as a first step to defining his career. “I realized I loved the concept of building something that wasn’t there before,” he said. The art of home-building took on a personal meaning to him. He came to understand exactly how his talents could make a difference in his world and the worlds of others. “I liked the idea of creating places where I knew children were going to be raised and lives were going to be lived,” he said.

Success found Paul in Southern California and he eventually took them to Arizona where he enjoyed a successful career. During that time, Paul and his wife, Amy, made multiple treks to visit his in-laws in Alpine. That’s when the true romance began, “We fell in love with Alpine.” Paul found his paradise. His family relocated to the Northern Utah community to start a new chapter. With seven children, the family embraced the Utah County community including incredible family values, activities, recreation and mind-blowing beauty. The Kroffs committed to raising their family in the shadow of the towering Wasatch Mountains in 2013. Alpine’s population was roughly 12,000. “Alpine offers the unique opportunity to live a mountain rural lifestyle and still enjoy metro services,” Paul said.

Steve Zolman

Through mutual friends, Paul became acquainted with Steve Zolman who was living on a 120-acre farm in a pristine location in the hills above Alpine. Steve and his wife, Annie, are parents to six children, one of which has special medical needs that require the Zolman family to be near quality healthcare. Alpine provided the perfect balance of services and amenities the Zolman’s needed.

Steve enjoyed a successful career in the security industry. He founded Pinnacle Security in 1998 and later merged with a company called Homeland Protection. By 2013 Pinnacle had secured more than 500,000 homes and was purchased by Protection One. Most recently, Steve served as CRO of EVO Alarm, a Top 10 ADT authorized dealership.

“Steve and I had mutual friends and that’s how we got to know each other,” Paul said. Together we were challenged with the concept of turning 130 acres into development property; but, this wasn’t just any property. This land is some of the last developable land in the area and the two knew it was something special. It is guarded by the Wasatch Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountain Range. The tall mountains offer seclusion and protection from the wind. The concept was to build a community that offered all the beauty of the Rocky Mountains including open space and generous-sized lots in a family atmosphere that would allow people to build and live among high-caliber neighbors who share their values.
